The University of Minnesota Duluth men's hockey goaltender Hunter Shepard earned his third National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) Goalie of the Week honor on Monday afternoon.
The sophomore stopped 70 of 72 shots in the weekend-long Ledyard Classic Tournament against Yale and Dartmouth. He had a career-high 41 saves in the title game that ended with a Bulldogs 2-2 victory over Dartmouth in a shootout.
Following the tournament success, the Bulldogs move to (9-9-3) overall to end the first half of the season.
They will return to the ice for the first time in 2018 at Colorado College on January 12.
