New Year's Eve house fire has Ashland firefighters out in sub-zero temps

ASHLAND, WI -

Firefighters in Ashland spent their New Year's Eve battling a structure fire in sub-zero temps.

Crews were called to the intersection of 10th Avenue West and West 5th Street just after 10:45 Sunday night. 

Firefighters were met with thick smoke and visible flames coming from a third story window of the house. 

No one was home at the time of the fire, and no injuries were reported. However, the house is considered a total loss. 

Officials are investigating the cause of the blaze.
