Bulldogs find success on power play, blast past Yale Bulldogs in Ledyard Classic
The No. 17 University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) Men's hockey team found success in its power play to lift the Bulldogs to victory over the Yale Bulldogs in game one of the Ledyard Classic in Hanover, NH on Friday afternoon.
UMD beat Yale 5-0.
Parker Mackay, Karson Kuhlman, and Blake Young scored three unanswered power play goals in the first and second period.
Jared Thomas, and Young would score even strength goals later in the game.
UMD's power play was the key to the game with three of four successful attempts.
The Bulldogs penalty kill stayed strong by shutting down Yale who had three power play opportunities in the game.
UMD's record was boosted to (9-9-2).
UMD will face Dartmouth on Saturday at 6:05 p.m. CT for game two of the Ledyard Classic.
