The Class A's No. 2 Hermantown boys' hockey team upset Class AA's No. 10 Wayzata in the semifinal round of the Hilltopper Classic at Mars Lakeview Arena on Thursday evening.

The Hawks won 3-2 over the Trojans.

Wayzata's Luc Monney gave his team a 1-0 lead in the first period, but Hermantown's Blake Biondi capitalized on the power-play and tied the game 1-1.

Hermantown's Biondi would score once more, and tally a point in the Hawks' two-goal second period.

The Trojans cut the Hawks lead by one but couldn't rally to tie to send the game into overtime.

Hermantown will face the winner of Brainerd vs. No. 12 Duluth Marshall on Friday at 3:30 p.m. at Mars Lakeview Arena.
