No. 2 Hermantown boys use big second period to blank Roseville 4-0

DULUTH, MN -

After failing to score in the first 17 minutes, the No. 2 Hermantown boys hockey team scored three goals in the second period to eventually shutout Roseville 4-0 at Mars Lakeview Arena on Wednesday. 

Elliot Peterson got the scoring started early in the second period, finishing on a breakaway to hand the Hawks a 1-0 lead. Darian Gotz and Brady Baker added goals later in the period to make it 3-0. 

Jacob Herter then capped off the four-goal winning effort halfway through the third period. 

Hermantown extends its unbeaten streak to four games and is now (3-3-2) overall. The Hawks return to action tomorrow at 5:45 p.m. against No. 10 Wayzata in the semifinals of the 17th Hilltopper Holiday Classic tournament.
