Garret Worth scored four goals in the second period, part of a six-goal period for the No. 3 Duluth East boys' hockey team in a 6-5 win over Lakeville North on Saturday at the Heritage Sports Center.
Lakeville North led 2-0 after the first period, but Worth quickly got Duluth East on the board with a power play goal early in the second period. Over the following seven minutes of action, the Greyhounds and Panthers combined for seven goals, capped off by Worth's third goal of the game to give Duluth East a 5-4 lead.
Worth then scored his fourth goal of the game on the power play with 33 seconds left in the second period. Porter Haney and Brendan Baker were the other goal-scorers for the Greyhounds in the second period.
Lakeville North led 25-24 in shots on goal.
Duluth East is now (6-0-2) overall, which is the team's best eight-game start since 2011-12. The Greyhounds return to action on December 30 when they host No. 16 Blaine.
