Logan Anderson buried a rebound in overtime to lift the No. 3 Duluth East boys' hockey team past No. 13 Duluth Marshall 3-2 on Thursday at the Heritage Sports Center.
In the the third matchup between the teams in the last 18 years, the Greyhounds jumped out to an early lead following a goal from Garrett Worth.
The Hilltoppers came alive in the second period, capped off by a goal from George Grannis at the buzzer to give the Hilltopers a 2-1 heading into the third period.
Austin Jouppi, though, tied the game on a penalty shot with seven minutes left in regulation, eventually sending the game into overtime. Anderson's goal was just his second of the season to hand the Greyhounds their second consecutive win over the Hilltoppers.
Duluth East is now (5-0-2), while Duluth Marshall falls to (6-2-1).
