UPDATE: Xcel Energy restores power to all in NW Wisconsin

UPDATE: The lights are back on for everyone in Northwest Wisconsin. 

According to company officials, more than 140 customers in the Herbster and Cornucopia area were without power Wednesday morning as equipment was being upgraded.

Officials also say all power is back on in Ashland after a piece of equipment was damaged at a substation Tuesday night.

All of Xcel Energy's customers in Ashland were impacted by the outage, which happened shortly after 8:30 on Tuesday.

Power was restored to those customers at 4:30 Wednesday morning. 


The lights are back on in Ashland after thousands of people were without power Tuesday night.

As of 8:20 a.m. on Wednesday, the Xcel Energy outage map currently shows all power is restored in Ashland.

Over 140 customers are without power in the Cornucopia and Herbster area at this time.

The lights are expected to come on around 11 a.m.

The cause of the outages are unknown at this time.

KBJR 6 is learning of a power outage in Ashland.

The Xcel Energy outage map shows there are currently 5 power outages, impacting just over 800 customers. 

The cause of the outages is unknown to us at this time, as well as when power is expected to be restored. 

On Tuesday night, there were eight outages that impacted over 3,500 residents.
