The NFL's new deal with Verizon means smartphone users will be able to watch football games regardless of carrier.
The league recently reached a new multi-year deal with Verizon to carry NFL games on mobile phones.
Starting in January, anyone with a smartphone will be able to watch games airing in their local market as well as nationally televised matchups, including the Super Bowl.
Fans can stream games on three apps: Yahoo Sports, Verizon's Go-90 and NFL Mobile.
Previously, NFL smartphone streaming was exclusively for Verizon customers.
The NFL says the new deal allows millions of fans additionally ways to follow the league.
