Sarah Kelly had 13 kills and Mackenzie Morgen added 12 kills to lead the No. 5 seed University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) volleyball team to a 3-0 win over top-seeded Southwest Minnesota State in the NCAA II Central Region semifinals in Marshall, Minn. on Friday.
Following four consecutive five-set matches, UMD finished the Mustangs off in three sets, 25-23, 25-14, and 25-23.
UMD hit for a .307 percentage in the match, which is much improved from .239 in UMD's 3-2 win over Northern State on Thursday.
The Bulldogs (26-6) have now advanced to their first Central Region championship since 2014 and will face second-seeded Concordia-St. Paul tomorrow at 3 p.m.
