UMD recruits Norton, Flaherty named to U.S. U-18 Women's National Team
DULUTH, MN -
University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) women's hockey recruits Lizi Norton and Maggie Flaherty have been named to the United States Under-18 Women's National Team, it was announced on Friday.
Norton returns to the 23-player roster after helping the Americans win gold in the 2017 IIHF Under-18 Women’s World Championship.
The Orono, Minn. native will join Flaherty, a Lakeville, Minn. native, on the team that will compete for its fourth consecutive gold medal at the 2018 IIHF Under-18 Women's World Championship in Dimitrov, Russia from January 6-13.
UMD women's hockey head coach Maura Crowell will serve as an assistant coach and expects to coach Norton and Flaherty on the Bulldogs at the start of the 2018-19 season.
