St. Scholastica junior midfielder Luke Buckton has been named to the United Soccer Coaches (USC) all-North Region first team, it was announced on Wednesday.
Buckton was tied for first in the region with 17 goals this season, and he added 11 assists. His seven game-winning goals were both second-most in the region this year and second-most in program history.
He becomes only the third St. Scholastica men's player to earn all-region first team status.
St. Scholastica sophomore forward Becca Rancour and junior midfielder Hannah Zeis have also been earned United Soccer Coaches (USC) all-North Region accolades, it was announced on Wednesday.
Rancour is a second team selection after leading the region with 22 goals and adding 12 assists this season. After just two seasons she has 99 career points, which is tied for ninth-most in program history.
Zeis, meanwhile, was named to the all-region third team after leading a defense that allowed only 1.22 goals per contest, and she chipped in offensively with two goals and five assists. The Ashland, Wis. native was also named this season the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) defensive player of the year.
