UPDATE: Authorities identify bodies of missing anglers recovered in Upper Red Lake

UPDATE: Authorities say the bodies of a missing couple that were recovered from Upper Red Lake have been identified.

Thirty-year-old Melissa Siedenstricker, of Princeton, and 29-year-old Zeth Knyphausen, of Stacy, were on the lake ice fishing when they failed to return to Rogers Resort on the lake's south shore Sunday. The resort is about 60 miles north of Bemidji.

The Beltrami County Sheriff's Department reported earlier that it found a submerged all-terrain vehicle used by the couple in a hole in the ice. The couple's bodies were recovered Monday afternoon.

UPDATE: Authorities say the bodies of two anglers have been recovered on Upper Red Lake in Beltrami County.

According to the Beltrami County Sheriff's Office, the bodies of a 29-year-old Princeton, Minnesota woman.. and a 28-year-old Stacy, Minnesota man... were found just after 3 p.m. on Monday. 

A friend reported them missing around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Earlier on Monday, a hole in the ice was located, and a side-sonar discovered an ATV that matches the description of the one they were using.

The names are being withheld until all family members are notified.

More information is expected to be released on Tuesday.

UPDATE: Authorities say a recovery effort is underway for two missing anglers after a submerged ATV was found on Upper Red Lake in Beltrami County.

According to the Beltrami County Sheriff's Office, a 29-year-old Princeton, Minnesota woman and a 28-year-old Stacy, Minnesota man had rented a sleeper fish house from Rogers Resort through noon on Sunday.

A friend reported them missing around 9:30 last night.

A hole in the ice was located, and a side-sonar has located an ATV that matches the description of the one used they were using.

Authorities say other items were found near the site, and believe the anglers are in the water.

Officials say ice conditions are poor, causing recovery efforts to take longer than usual.

Authorities are asking anyone who lives along, or near the shores of Upper Red Lake to check their property for two missing fishermen.

The Beltrami County Sheriff's Office says a 29-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman were last known to be on Upper Red Lake.

In addition, authorities are also looking for the ATV the missing persons were using.

The ATV is described as a Polaris Sportsman 500 camo.

Authorities say do *not go out on the ice to help due to unsafe conditions.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Beltrami County Sheriff's Office, or dial 911.
