The Great Lakes Aquarium held a sensory-friendly event this morning.
The aquarium dimmed the lights and turned down the noise including waterfalls for those on the autism spectrum.
The event coordinator for the aquarium, Danielle Tikalsky, said it's important that they make the facility a place where everyone is welcome.
"It's important because it's another way for us to make the aquarium really accessible for anyone who wants to come here by opening early, there aren't huge crowds and then by turning down all those displays and waterfalls, it makes it a little bit quieter and easier for anyone to come"
Sensory-Friendly Saturdays happen the last Saturday of each month through March.
