Glensheen is busy hanging the stockings with care in hopes that museum goers soon will be there.
The mansion has been temporarily shut down, and is getting covered in Christmas decorations. As of Tuesday morning, staff and volunteers had completed one room and were setting up the tree in the main entry.
Glensheen staff say the decorations change the atmosphere from museum, to home.
"Glensheen has been decorating for years. However, in the past four or five years we've really been trying to ramp it up by hiding elves for kids," explains Lucie Amundsen. "There is going to be a new Christmas book for kids. And we even have a vintage sleigh, not a historic one, so people can get on and take their Christmas pictures, and we have Christmas cookies--that is Clara's recipe."
Glensheen will have a total of 25 Christmas trees to see this year.
