Daryl Watts scored three unanswered goals in the first and second periods to lift the No. 3 Boston College women's hockey team to a 4-1 win and series sweep over the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) in Chestnut Hill, Mass. on Friday.
The lone UMD goal came from freshman Ashton Bell, who netted her second goal in as many days on a power play halfway through the first period to tie the game at 1-1.
Watts gave the Eagles the lead with her first goal of the game at the end of the first period before tacking on two more goals in the second period.
Overall, UMD led in shots on goal 32-26. Catherine Johnson made her first career start in net for the Bulldogs and made 22 saves.
The Bulldogs fall to (2-2-0) on the season and will continue their four-game road trip next weekend against Ohio State to open WCHA play.
