After back-to-back shutouts, UMD's Convery confident headed out east

DULUTH, MN -

University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) senior goaltender Jessica Convery made 34 saves in back-to-back shutouts last weekend, but she says a lot of that credit belongs to her defense.

"It's so nice having players back there that know the team well and know what they're doing," she said. "I'm just trying to keep the team in the game, play as well as I can, and help them win a game. Or two games."

Convery, who transferred from Mercyhurst, made 34 saves between the two games as part of the season-opening sweep of Penn State.

She and No. 4 UMD are on the road to No. 3 Boston College this week. Game one of that series is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. Thursday, while the finale comes at 1:00 p.m. Friday.
