Despite the brisk morning temperatures, students around Duluth were putting their best foot forward on the way to school Wednesday.
Hundreds of Lincoln Park Middle School students met at the Wheeler ball fields to take part in National Walk to School Day.
The event is sponsored by the Minnesota Safe Routes to School Resource Center, which aims to improve walking and bicycling conditions for kids across the state.
"Today is a great opportunity when we are going up the hill for students to be shoulder to shoulder with staff, and just talking about health and fitness," says Lincoln Park Middle School Principal Brenda Vatthauer, "and things they do in their life to help promote health and fitness."
National Bike to School Day is scheduled for May 10th.
