Strong first half powers Duluth East, hands CEC first loss of season

The No. 4 Duluth East boys' soccer team scored three goals in the first half on Monday night, paving the way for a 3-1 win over previously unbeaten and No. 8 Cloquet-Esko-Carlton (CEC).

Nolan Friday opened the scoring in the game's first 90 seconds, with William Francis and Jackson Manthey following from there to give the Greyhounds a 3-0 halftime lead.

The loss is the first of the season for CEC, which falls to (12-1-1). Duluth East, which also has only one loss, is now (13-1-0).
