The St. Louis County Board has voted unanimously to support a proposed tax levy increase.
In Tuesday's meeting, the County Board approved a 4.45 percent increase from this year's budget, which the County says would have a .5 percent impact on property taxes.
According to the County, the increase in property tax would help maintain the current level of services in Public Health and Human Services, Public Safety, Public Works, and other taxpayer services.
As board members work to finalize the county budget, the levy amount may be reduced, but can't increase.
The board will have two meetings for those wishing to give their input--one on November 30th in Virginia, and the second on December 7th in Duluth.
Both meetings will begin at 7 p.m.
