Korey Kaczur joined the KBJR 6 news team in July 2016 as a multimedia journalist during the week. On the weekends, you can catch her anchoring sports.
Korey is a San Diego native but is more than excited to be the newest Duluth resident!
She is a passionate journalist and storyteller, and her time and unique experiences at Arizona State University fueled her passion even more. During her time at ASU, Korey worked alongside professionals in her internships at Fox 10 Phoenix and Fox 5 San Diego. In her senior year, she was one of the few chosen to cover MLB teams in Phoenix during Spring Training. Her opportunity to cover the Arizona Diamondbacks and produce content for a local news station is easily one of the highlights of her career. This proud Sundevil received a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from the prestigious Walter Cronkite School.
Post graduation, Korey returned back to her hometown to work at Fox Sports San Diego as a production assistant, also working closely with the Padres organization. After the season, she took her talents to East Texas to serve as a broadcast reporter and in-game emcee for a Texas Collegiate League summer baseball team. Before coming to Minnesota, Korey briefly served at the San Diego Padres’ pregame entertainment host.
If you couldn’t tell already, Korey is quite the sports enthusiast. She enjoys attending any and all sporting events. And as a loyal San Diegan, she loves rooting for her Chargers and Padres. Now that she’s a Minnesotan, go Vikings and Twins, too!
In her spare time, Korey enjoys catching up on her daily soap opera, the Young and the Restless, as well as exploring beautiful Duluth and taste testing local craft beers. Since it is her first time in the Northland, don’t be afraid to say hi if you see her around town!
