Blake Melin -- Work is nearly complete at the new Cloquet Middle School, and on Thursday, officials opened the doors so staff, parents and students could get a sneak peek.
The new facility boasts a pool, state of the art choir and band room, as well as a large gymnasium.
Classrooms are also equipped with smart boards.
The two-floor school took nearly two years to complete.
Students and faculty alike are excited about the much needed change.
"At the old school, the ceilings, [and] parts of the ceilings were falling down, and falling off of the ceiling. But now they've built it so much better," said Cloquet Middle School student Shayna Hamilton.
"We're moving out of a 100 year old building, approximately. Parts of it were around 100 years old. Moving into a building like this gives our kids unique opportunities," said Cloquet Middle School Principal Tom Brenner.
Classes for the Lumberjacks are set to begin on September 5th.
