Save those receipts when you go back to school shopping, there are some tax benefits parents can take advantage of.
The Minnesota Department of Revenue is reminding shoppers that the state tax code allows for two perks.
One is a refundable credit, known as the K-12 education credit.
The other is a subtraction, which works like a tax deduction.
Both programs reduce the tax parents pay and could provide a larger refund while filing a 2017 Minnesota income tax return.
