U.S. Congressman Sean Duffy's office confirms he will attend a public meeting on the Lac Courte Oreilles reservation late next week.
The band is hosting the meeting next Friday at the LCO school auditorium surrounding the Native American Housing Assistance and Self Determination Act of 1996.
Representative Duffy's office says he has not gotten a response after he called on the HUD Office of Inspector General in June to investigate what he calls quote "gross mismanagement of federal dollars by the LCO Tribal Governing Board."
In the letter to HUD, Representative Duffy said $800,000 was supposed to go towards mold remediation for 53 homes on the reservation, located in Sawyer County.
To date, he says only a handful have been remediated.
