Hundreds of runners will be lacing up for Thursday's Park Point 5 Miler race.
The annual mid-summer race starts at 6:30 p.m. near the Sky Harbor Airport and takes runners down Minnesota Avenue to 24th Street and back. The festivities also include a 2-mile walk, which starts at 6:35 p.m., and kids races, which get going at 5:30 p.m.
There are some road closures associated with this race.
Minnesota Avenue and the parking lots at the end of Park Point will close down starting at 6 p.m.
Starting at 6 p.m., Drivers wanting to enter Park Point will be stopped at 24th Street and those already on the Point past 24th Street will be held there for about an hour.
