The Duluth Fire Department issued a warning for swimmers Wednesday, advising people to stay out of the water while dangerous swimming conditions are being reported along the Park Point Beach.
This warning means that wind and wave conditions can support rip currents. Rip currents are life-threatening to anyone entering the water, and the Duluth Fire Department says people should stay out of the water regardless of your swimming experience.
There are currently no lifeguards at Park Point. Locations where the red flag warnings are posted include: 12th St. beach, Lafayette Square, and Park Point beach.
