HIBBING, MN -
A mental competency evaluation was ordered by the court Thursday for a Hibbing man who faces an attempted murder charge along with multiple assault charges.
The hearing will determine whether Michael Johnson is mentally competent to stand trial.
Authorities were called to the 2200 Block of First Ave. in Hibbing on May 26th, where they found Johnson's wife with stab wounds to her face.
Police arrested Johnson and charged him with attempted murder and assault.
Johnson is currently in custody on a $1 million bond.
The next hearing in this case is scheduled for July.
