Superior police say a 23-year-old suspect is in custody after a heavy police presence was seen Thursday on the 1200 block of Harrison Street, which included the Emergency Response Team.
According to police, an arrest and search warrant was served for a home from a domestic abuse incident from the previous night.
Officials arrived at the scene around 10:30 Thursday morning.
The suspect refused to come out of the home, and when negotiations failed, authorities entered the house.
Police say any loud noises heard by neighbors were distraction devices, or flash bangs, used by the Emergency Response Team.
The suspect was eventually taken into custody and brought to St. Luke's hospital for injuries.
Police say when the suspect is cleared from the hospital, he will be brought to the Douglas County Jail for charges of domestic abuse strangulation, domestic abuse batter and bail jumping.
We will have more details as they become available.
