    This week's rain is helping lower the chances for grass fires in the Northland. According to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, there are still burning restrictions even though Duluth and places South and East of the city received significant rain.

DULUTH, MN -

KBJR 6 Meteorologist Adam Lorch says scattered thunderstorms will develop in the area Monday afternoon.

Lorch says more rain and thunder will develop after the noon hour and through the early afternoon.

Some heavy rain will be possible, but there will be a very small chance of a strong storm.

More rain and storms are possible Monday evening, with some heavy rain possible.

On Tuesday, there will be an 80% chance of rain and storms in the Northland due to heat and moisture moving into the area.

Afternoon storms could become strong or severe, and heavy rain, frequent lightning, hail, and damaging winds are possible.
