An 18-year-old Babbitt man will spend the next seven years on probation after pleading guilty to having sexual contact with a child under the age of 13.
According to court documents, Alyx Haburn sexually assaulted the boy once when he was 16-years-old and again when he was 17-years-old.
The criminal complaint states the two sexual encounters happened over a one year period.
The victim was a long-time family friend.
As part of a plea deal, Haburn was sentenced on Monday, April 17th as an adult on a charge of First Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct.
Probation includes no contact with anyone under the age of 18 unless approved by probation and attending a sex offender program.
If Haburn doesn't violate the terms of his probation, he could be discharged after five years.
