Duluth Police will add internet exchange safe spots

Posted: Updated:
DULUTH, MN -

According to craigslist.org, over 60 million Americans will use craigslist in a month. Many of those users are exchanging or buying items online.

The Duluth Police Department is preparing to make those exchanges safer. The police department will install 'Meet Up' signs in designated police parking lots.

The signs will be in the police controlled parking lots on Grand Avenue and Arlington Avenue.

Each lot will be well lit and have security cameras that will monitor all activity that happens in the parking lots.

The Duluth Police did not give us a definite time when they will be up and running.

In 2015, Hennepin County Sheriff's Office added three 'Swap Spot' locations in the Twin Cities.
