Gronseth not chosen to lead Elk River Schools

Posted: Updated:

Duluth School's Superintendent Bill Gronseth was not chosen to lead the Elk River School District.

According to the ISD 728 website, the board voted Thursday night and selected a different candidate.

Gronseth had been one of three finalists for the position in the Twin Cities area.

Gronseth is also in consideration to head up the White Bear Lake School District. The interview process is still on going for that position, according to White Bear Lake School District website.

Gronseth recently signed a new three-year contract with the Duluth School District, but it doesn't take effect until July.

In a statement last week, Gronseth said he is exploring other options after several Duluth School Board members gave him "less than positive support during his review process."
