Have a budding forecaster in your home? Someone who has their head out the window most days and perpetually comments on the weather conditions? Or, maybe someone who is chatty and has a possible career in front of the camera? This could be your little forecaster's opportunity to embark on their career path.
Help them by submitting an application for them to be a First Time Forecaster on KBJR 6.
Each month, KBJR 6 will accept applications, and our team of judges will review them and select the First Time Forecaster for the month.
He or she will then join Adam on the fourth Thursday of the month for the 5 p.m. newscast.
All applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- Applicants must be in 2nd-8th grades.
- Applicants must be received by midnight on the 15th of each month in order to be considered.
- Applicants must include a brief essay of no more than 300 words on why they should be considered to be a First Time Forecaster.
- Forecasting demonstration videos and photos are encouraged, but not required.
Our team of judges will make a selection the following week and Adam Clark will personally call the featured First Time Forecaster to share the news.
The First Time Forecaster must be accompanied by an adult to the studio and must be able to commit to the 4-6 p.m. time slot on the 4th Thursday of the month.
First Time Forecaster must arrange for transportation to the KBJR 6 studio at 246 South Lake Avenue in Duluth.
The station reserves the right to cancel without warning due to timely news events.
The application is not a guarantee of a television appearance.
