Michael joins KBJR 6 from the East Coast after graduating from Lyndon State College in May 2016.
Michael was born and raised in Methuen, Massachusetts, about 25 miles north of Boston. His passion for journalism began in high school after taking a journalism class his sophomore year. This lead to his decision to attend Lyndon State, a top journalism school in the country.
Michael was a four-year pitcher for the varsity baseball team, and was part of the college's Vermont Center for Community Journalism. While attending LSC, he was able to cover the 2016 New Hampshire Primary, as he was able to interview candidates such as New Jersey Governor Chris Christie and Ohio Governor John Kasich. Michael also hosted a sports talk show for four years on Lyndon's radio station.
What Michael loves most about anchoring is being the one to bring the news to viewers every morning. He likes having the responsibility to deliver the news in a way that is best for the viewers. He had never been to Minnesota before coming to Duluth, and loves the area and the people in the community.
Michael is a big Boston sports fan, and loves the 5-time Champion New England Patriots. He loves to do anything outside, including hiking, heading to the beach, and ice-fishing. Michael also loves to play any sport! He will adopt Minnesota sport teams as his own, second to Boston teams.
You can catch Michael anchoring weekdays from 5-7 a.m. on KBJR 6 News Today.
