WASHINGTON (AP) - Democratic Sen. Al Franken has issued an explanation and apology in the wake of four women alleging that he had touched them inappropriately. The Minnesota-born former comedian says he is sorry that he's made some women "feel badly." Franken's Thanksgiving Day message ends with a promise to regain constituents' trust, suggesting that no resignation is being contemplated.
TAYLORS FALLS, Minn. (AP) - A body found on the Wisconsin side of Interstate Park this week has been identified as that of a missing kayaker from Minnesota. Forty-nine-year-old Vue Her of Oakdale went missing over the summer after reportedly leaving for a kayaking trip. An unoccupied kayak was later spotted north of Rock Island on the St. Croix River. Vue Her's vehicle was located unoccupied at the park. His body was discovered Tuesday by two hunters walking along the St. Croix river bottoms.
SWATARA, Minn. (AP) - Cass County authorities say a 23-year-old man has been killed in a Minnesota snowmobile crash. Cass County Sheriff Tom Burch identified the victim in the Thursday crash as Jeremy Gindele of Swatara.
NEW YORK MILLS, Minn. (AP) - A man accused of having a sexual relationship with a teenage student while teaching in New York Mills last year has been found not guilty. An Otter Tail County jury acquitted 38-year-old Kris Koll of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct, a charge that carries a maximum punishment of 10 years in prison. Defense attorney Anthony Bussa says his client is "an innocent man who's wrongfully accused," and that Koll looks forward to restoring his reputation
