In Northwestern Wisconsin, the Chequamegon-Nicolet national forest is still picking up the pieces from that 2016 storm. About 42,000 acres in the Washburn District were damaged. Assistant ranger for recreations and lands Teresa Maday has been picking up some of the pieces since July 21, 2016.
